Brett Pullen has been the inspiration and leader of our family becoming vegan. He has was the first in the family to commit to a vegan lifestyle, and has been instrumental in helping all of us adopt and adapt to vegan eating. At this stage of our journey we are in various stages of commitment and passion for this lifestyle. We are all committed to eating a plant based diet, avoiding ingestion of all animal products, and trying to do this is a healthy and safe way.
Ed is a semi-retired family physician, and Kay a retired advertising executive, are the “Mom and Dad” in the family and decided to eat a plant-based diet in early 2015. As of early 2016 Ed has lost about 20 lbs, and has found avoiding animal based foods really pretty easy. Kay has been the primary cook and creator of healthy and tasty vegan dishes.
Jean, Brett’s older sister, has always been a meat-minimalist, preferring non-meat meals anyway, and in mid-2015 stopped eating animal products altogether. She has found she has better energy, loves creating raw and cooked vegan dishes, and is teaching all of us some creative recipes and food-prep methods.
We hope to use this site to share and document our recipes, shopping tips, and tricks-of-the-trade with each other and anyone else interested.
